We went with ASIQ because of the great reviews and trusted we’d get a proper, thorough inspection. Blair seemed professional, and we felt confident buying the car based on his report. But soon after purchase, our car started burning over a litre of oil a week. A local mechanic quickly found the PCV valve was completely blocked and that the piston rings need replacing. Blair had noted there were no signs of piston ring wear. We paid to replace the PCV valve, hoping it would solve the problem, but it didn’t. The car is still using oil, and we’ve been quoted $4,300 for repairs on the engine that we can’t afford. We contacted Blair a few weeks after purchase to ask if he’d be open to take another look at the car before we took it to a garage for the engine diagnostics, but got no response. We trusted his inspection and wouldn’t have bought the car if we’d known.
